Vancouver is Celebrating Tu B’Shvat.

Tu B’shvat Celebrations.

This beautiful holiday of Tu B’Shvat is celebrated every 15 of the Jewish month of Shvat and is also called “Rosh HaShanah La’Ilanot” –  “New Year of the Trees.” It symbolises a sense of renewal and in Israel the holiday is celebrated with planting trees and enjoying the many delightful species of dried fruits and nuts, Israel is so blessed with such as raisins, figs, dates, and almonds.

This year Tu B’Shvat will be celebrated in many of our city’s favorite places.

The JNF will have a fund-raising campaign telethon on February 19th and 26th. You are all welcome to volunteer and answer calls.

A lively Tu B’Shvat Fest and fun with music, activities and even seed plantings will take place at Beth Tikvah Congregation in Richmond on February 5th.
