On the 14th of September we started making our way to the remote raw beauty of British Columbia, the place of Nuk Tessli. We decided to drive (other ways to get there are by bus or a short airplane). We drove north up highway 97 and then west on highway 20 through the beautiful Chilcotin region. The Chilcotin region starts at Williams Lake and ends at Bella Coola. Before Bella Coola, at Nimpo Lake, we boarded our private sea plane to Nuk Tessli. It was a 15-minute plane ride of panoramic wonder of trees, lakes and mountains abound. We sat quietly, mesmerized and taking in all the vivid beauty. Upon arriving at Nuk Tessli, we looked out of our plane to see ten smiling Israeli faces waving to us from the dock. After unloading our bags, we were given a tour of the cabins and facilities of Nuk Tessli, while sipping on some tea. Our stay was an unforgettable experience! From staying in a cozy rustic cabin, to eating nutritious cooked meals, from trekking and canoeing by day to hot tubbing by night made our 5 day stay most memorable! Never did we ever experience a purer way of drinking water by filling our water bottles straight from Nuk Tessli’s pristine waterfront lake! Doron Harel and his dedicated team of Israeli volunteers have created a truly unique welcoming wilderness experience. We highly recommend for you to visit next summer!
