Sad News – Jack (Jacob) Davidoff z’l

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Beth Israel member Jack (Jacob) Davidoff z’l, husband of Joy Davidoff, on February 15th, 2018. Jack was predeceased by his siblings Peter Davidoff z’l, David Davidoff z’l, and Sybil Abramov z’l.
Our heartfelt condolences to Jack’s wife Joy, his children Rebecca Rafael and Jonathan Davidoff, as well as his grandchildren Josha, Sabastian, Josephine, and Gabriel.
The funeral will be held on Sunday February 18th at 1:00 pm at the Beth Israel Cemetery (1721 Willingdon Avenue).  The community is welcome to gather after the burial at the Louis Brier Home and Hospital (1055 W. 41st Ave.) to share the meal of consolation with the family. A mincha service will start at 4:00 pm, giving the family an opportunity to say kaddish.
Joy, Rebecca, and Jonathan will be sitting shiva Monday and Tuesday at Rebecca’s home in Vancouver and Wednesday and Thursday at Joy’s home at the Weinberg Residence (5650 Osler Street, Suite 213). Please feel free to visit them during the afternoon on Monday and Tuesday and anytime after 6:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.  Shiva at 7:30 pm.
The family will complete shiva on Friday evening at Beth Israel (989 West 28th Ave) and will be attending Shabbat services Saturday morning at Beth Israel.

  1. I would be so grateful if my condolences could be passed on to Joy and Jack Davidoff’s family.
    It was such a privilege to have met and performed for Jack and Joy during Jack’s final months in Louis Brier. I had known these beautiful people in London and had not seen them in 20 years. How lucky to have encountered them again- and just in time in Jack’s case.
    I shall hope to see Joy upon my next visit to Vancouver later in the year.
