Sad News – Ellen Frank z’l

With sorrow, we inform you that our dear friend Ellen Frank died on January 30, 2017, corresponding to the 4th of Shvat, 5777. Ellen died at home and at peace, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her compassion, courage, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her memory be for a blessing – tehe zichrona baruch.

Ellen is mourned by her children and grandchildren and by a large community of loved ones.

The funeral was held at Or Shalom Synagogue, 710 East 10th Avenue in Vancouver, at 11:30 AM on Wednesday February 1. Following the funeral, Ellen was buried at the Schara Tzedeck Cemetery, 16656 60th Avenue, Surrey, BC.

Shiva will be observed at the home of Johanna Frank-Davis in Coquitlam, BC, with evening minyanim at 7 PM from Wednesday, January 30 through Monday, February 6. On Friday evening, the family will say kaddish at Or Shalom’s Kabbalat Shabbat service, 7:15 PM.

Hamakom yenachem etchem b’toch shaar avlei Tzion v’Yerushalayim – may our mourners be comforted together with the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
