Return to Play (RTP)

Return to play is a sports term that requires one to cease the activity/sport one is engaged in, until the doctor or medical advisor deems one ready to go back to the sporting field.

The following questions will prime you to set your RTP guidelines in sporting your life, when the need arises. When you return to work after the weekend, what gets you ready to be in fine form at the office? When you return to speaking to your kid after a disagreement, what mindset helps you resolve the issues? When you return to studying, what goals are you establishing in order to be focused? When you return to the drawing table what allows you to generate new ideas? When you return to your bed at the end of your day, what aids you to get a good night’s rest?

Give yourself permission before you really do need a doctor’s note, to take a break, and notice how your physical and mental training is going. Acknowledge the values you are honouring and only then, return to your arena, and play hard!

Yours in MOMentum,
Debbie Havusha
