It is said that each Jewish Occasion is the same: “they attempted to decimate us; we won; now let’s celebrate and eat! – and with all that silliness, there’s a truth somewhere into this.
Like each Jewish Occasion, Chanukah has its saints and villains. The antagonists of Chanukah – the Greeks – looked upon the spiritual devastation of the Jewish individuals. They prohibited recognition of Sabbath and similar Occasions, denied circumcision, and put a symbol in the Sacred Holy Temple.
