Ayelet Rose Gottlieb is an Israeli jazz vocalist who has made a name for her self in the international jazz scene. She frequently collaborates with composer John Zorn and has shared the stage with many famous jazz musicians, including vocalist Bobby McFerrin (“Don’t Worry Be Happy”) with whom she performed at New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall. Ayelet recently moved to Vancouver, and is starting to perform and teach locally. On January 16th, 8:30 at China Cloud (524 Main Street) she will be celebrating the international release of her album “Roadsides”, which was first released in Israel in 2013, and features Israeli pop-star Alon Oleartchik of Kaveret. Here she will perform this music, sung mostly in Hebrew, with a fantastic local band, including cellist Peggy Lee. www.ayeletrose.com
