Sharon Ruth Cooper OBITUARY

It is with great sadness that the family of Sharon Ruth Cooper announces her passing on Monday, January 12, 2015, at 61 years of age, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.

All of those who knew her will remember the truly vibrant and caring soul she was. Sharon was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and teacher. She had a place in her heart for everyone she met. Sharon was a very spiritual person with a passion for Jewish music and literature. Her love of life was perhaps most evident during her illness, when she rejoiced each day through walks, travel, and relationships.

Sharon was a very talented and skilled teacher of the deaf. She loved her students and their families and spent many evenings preparing the most creative lessons imaginable for them.

Sharon was beautiful, loving, inspirational, intuitive, and humble. She was the ultimate caregiver for her family, for whom she spent months of devotion at their bedsides when they were ill. She was predeceased by parents Anne and Allan Cooper and brother Laurie Cooper. She will be forever missed by her husband Ken Sanders, daughter Jenny Sanders (Sam Hyman), son Jared Sanders (Caroline Kornhauser), brother Richard Cooper, sister Carla Zivot (Lou), brother Mark Cooper (Diana), and many family members and friends.

Sharon’s family would like express their immense gratitude for the wonderful medical care Sharon received during her illness, as well as all the love and support she and they received from family and friends during this difficult time.

The family would be honored if you would like to make a donation in Sharon’s memory to either of the following organizations: BC Cancer Foundation – Attn: Dr. Karen Gelmon http://donate.bccancerfoundation.com/goto/sharon_cooper or to the Family Network
for Deaf Children (FNDC) https://www.fndc.ca/about/donate.
