Demand for organic, kosher and gluten-free products drives craft beer innovation in B.C

British Columbians’ zeal for dietary purity is giving rise to a new wave of craft beers that offer everything from certified organic and gluten-free ingredients to rabbi-approved kosher certification.

Prince George’s Pacific Western Brewing has occupied a relatively lonely space in the market since their first certified organic beer launched in 1997. They now offer three organic beers under the Scandal and Natureland labels.

Nelson Brewing Company introduced its first organic beers about seven years ago, as demand for organic foods began to peak in B.C.
