JFSA, Chabad and Kollel link with Yossilinks

By Debbie Havusha

Three weeks ago a young Israeli man with very little English showed up at Vancouver’s Jewish Family Service Agency (www.jfsa.ca). He had just landed and had with him 3 suitcases and his Canadian passport. He needed a starting point and he really needed a place to stay. Rachel Shanken, JFSA’s Director of Administration and Employment and Settlement Services thought of Yossilinks. She picked up the phone to call Yossi Havusha, the founder of Yossilinks Media Inc. Of course Yossi answered the phone call and came promptly to pick up this young and grateful Israeli comrade. He connected him to a place to stay and offered him some important information of what to do next.

Yossi Havusha is a very busy man, fielding many calls and emails from members of the Vancouver Jewish community and beyond. He knows how to link people with the right resources and has been steadfast at doing this for a while now.

This summer Yossilinks will be celebrating its’ bar mitzvah year. For 13 years Yossilinks has been providing a networking hub for Greater Vancouver’s Jewish community. Yossilinks advertises community events, offers Beginners Hebrew classes, posts the birth of a new baby girl or boy, co-ordinates parties and speaker series, advertises businesses and services, and always announces notices of the passing of our community’s loved ones. All this information makes it to the weekly e-newsletter and to an active website (www.Yossilinks.com).

For your community enjoyment, join us to celebrate Yossilinks’ Bar Mitzvah year at the two upcoming summer barbeques sponsored by Yossilinks, Chabad Richmond and JFGV/Gesher Program on Sunday July 23rd and then again Yossilinks with The Kollel on Sunday August 13th.

Yossilinks is keeping us connected!
